Every young person deserves more than a second chance — they deserve to be safe, seen, and supported.
At the New Beginnings Youth Foundation (NBYF) Treatment Centre, we go beyond simply offering help. We provide a healing journey — one filled with structure, compassion, and opportunity. Here, we don’t just change habits or treat mental health issues; we rewrite stories.
Many of the youths who walk through our doors have known more pain than peace. Some are battling substance use, others have faced abuse, neglect, or homelessness. For many, hope has been a stranger.
But at NBYF, they find something different: a place to start again.
How We Structure Our Weekdays
When a young person joins us, the first thing they encounter isn’t a lecture or a punishment — it’s a routine. A simple, consistent structure that gives them back control of their day, and slowly, their lives.
Weekdays start at 5:30 AM, not to be tough, but to teach discipline, punctuality, and personal responsibility. Morning hygiene, breakfast, and check-ins set the tone for the day.
From 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, they attend school. For some, it’s their first time back in a classroom in years. They learn math, English, science, and more — but beyond academics, they regain confidence. They begin to dream again.
This routine isn’t about filling time. It’s about restoring dignity. When a young person has somewhere to be, something meaningful to do, and someone who believes in them, the healing begins.

Afternoon Rehabilitation - Therapy & Mentorship

By afternoon, the focus shifts inward — to healing the mind and emotions.
From 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM, the young people receive academic support and dive into therapy sessions tailored to their unique journeys. These therapy and mentorship sessions includes but not limited to:
Group Therapy: A safe space to share and learn from one another.
Individual Counseling: One-on-one guidance to help process trauma.
Books and Art Therapy: Reading a book or relaxing with a drawing can help them express in ways words cannot.
Chess Club: Teaching focus, patience, and strategic thinking.
Vocational Training: Classes in barbing and fashion design help develop skills they can use beyond the center.
Outdoor activities and Games: This is included to help them have fun and feel good about themselves.
Fridays are special. That’s when trusted mentors come in — many of whom have overcome similar struggles — to speak life and hope into the youths. They share stories, offer advice, and guide them toward a new future.
“Mentorship is one of the strongest predictors of long-term recovery success,” – American Psychological Association, 2023
These moments become turning points. Many of our youths say that their mentor was the first adult who truly saw them — not for what they’ve done, but for who they could become.
How We Enjoy our Evenings

After a day of learning and therapy, evenings are designed to nurture creativity, curiosity, and self-discovery.
These are not just "activities." They are carefully chosen sessions to help our youths heal through experience. Here’s how a typical week looks like:
Psycho-educational groups (Mondays and Wednesdays )
Creative Writing Group (Tuesdays)
Independent Living Skill group-To teach our youths necessary life skills (Thursdays)
Game/Movie Night (Fridays)
These sessions may seem lighthearted, but they serve a deeper purpose: helping the youths discover talents, process emotions, and learn how to connect again.
That’s the power of creativity in healing.
Weekends: To Rest, Reconnect, Reflect

Rehabilitation is not only about structure — it’s also about balance. That’s why our weekends offer a more relaxed but intentional schedule.
The day starts a bit later, around 6:30 AM, and includes:
Personal hygiene & chores: Teaching responsibility and discipline.
Spiritual Activities : Our youths attend worship places to provide peace and meaning for them. Ultimately, to give them a supernatural connection with the author and finisher of our fate.
Family visitations: Creating safe opportunities to reconnect with loved ones.
Outdoor games & free time: Because play is also part of healing. All work and no play makes our youth dull.
Movie nights and storytelling sessions: Offering rest, laughter, and bonding.
These weekends are a reminder that joy and structure can coexist. That rehabilitation isn’t a punishment — it’s a pathway to wholeness.

It's pertinent to note that no two youths come with the same story — and at NBYF, we don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions.
Our approach is individualized. Some need more therapy. Others need education or help with personal discipline. We have systems in place to monitor each young person’s journey, adjusting care where needed. Our treatment center isn't about treating mental health issues, we’re rebuilding people.
Preparing for Life After the Centre
Our greatest success isn’t when a young person completes a program — it’s when they leave ready to face life. That’s why reintegration is a major part of our model. We prepare youths for independent living and societal re-entry by equipping them with necessary life skills.
They learn how to manage their emotions, find employment, re-enter school, or even start a small business. We also help them reconnect with family members, where possible, in a safe and healthy manner. Our goal is not just recovery, but transformation.
Your Support Makes This Possible
None of this would be possible without people like you. Every moment — from therapy sessions to feeding time, from music classes to mentorship visits — happens because someone cared enough to give.
When you support NBYF, you are not just donating. You are rescuing futures.
Here’s how your support makes a difference:
Donate: Financial contributions help in training mentors, organizing events, and providing resources.
Volunteer: Share your skills and experiences by becoming a mentor.
Partner: Collaborate with NBYF to expand the reach and impact of mentorship programs..
Somewhere in the NBYF Centre today, a young boy is learning to read for the first time in years. Another is writing his own story in a journal. And a group of once-hopeless teens are laughing together during a game of chess.
That’s the beauty of recovery.
That’s what your generosity makes possible.
Let’s make room for more.
Donate today. Share our story. Be the reason a young person finds hope again.
