In a world where many are silently struggling, Lady Esther, affectionately known as Lady E, stands as a shining beacon of hope for young people in need. As the founder of the New Beginnings Youth Foundation (NBYF), her story is one of purpose, hard work, and a strong belief in the potential of Nigerian youth.
A Journey of Growth and Empathy
Lady Esther was born in Lagos Island, Nigeria, into the family of Alhaji Mujahid Olorunkemi Ajao and Alhaja Ganiat Folashade Abike Akinola of Olumegbon and Aromie. Isaleko, Lagos.
As the eldest child of six children, she developed a strong sense of responsibility and empathy from a young age. At 15, her parents took her to America, where she faced the challenges of adapting to a new environment. Initially overwhelmed by feelings of sadness and loneliness, Lady E gradually found her place and grew to love American culture.
The Birth of NBYF

The seeds of NBYF were sown during her adolescence when a close friend faced the daunting reality of teenage motherhood, losing custody of her child. Accompanying her friend to see a social worker ignited a desire in Lady Esther to help vulnerable individuals, especially youth. This passion culminated one night in a vivid dream of a help center where hope and healing could flourish. That dream became her life’s mission and led to the establishment of NBYF.
A Purpose-Driven Calling

“This is more than just work—it’s my calling,” Lady Esther often proclaims. Her unwavering commitment to helping others drives her, even through challenges like staffing issues and funding constraints. Lady E’s philosophy revolves around adaptability, optimism, and finding opportunities in adversity, values she has instilled in the NBYF identity. Her efforts have brought about transformative change, evidenced by stories like that of a young man who, once lost in a world of crime and substance abuse, found his way to NBYF. With support from the foundation, he turned his life around and is now pursuing a future as a skilled tradesman.
NBYF: Beyond Just Alabata, Ibadan

Lady Esther envisions NBYF as more than just a treatment center in Alabata. Ibadan: she dreams of a vast network reaching communities across Nigeria, empowering every young person to flourish. She aspires to be remembered as a life-changer, dedicated to helping individuals find hope and purpose. Her vision is of a Nigeria where every youth has the necessary support and tools to rise above life's challenges.
The Multifaceted Lady Esther

A proud Nigerian, Lady Esther holds multiple degrees: she is a Master Level Social Worker (MSW), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and an MBA graduate. Currently licensed as a psychotherapist in Arizona (USA), she also serves as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. Her expertise positions her to empower youth across West Africa with vital tools for success and citizenship.
Outside of her professional life, she is a devoted Christian, a mother to three adult children, and an aspiring author, passionate about catalyzing change in the lives of young people. Lady Esther embodies a blend of hard work, patience, and resilience that inspires those around her.
Join the Movement for Change
Lady Esther understands that she cannot achieve this vision alone. NBYF needs partners, donors, and advocates to extend its reach and amplify its impact on young lives. Whether you contribute financially, forge partnerships, or share their mission, every effort can lead to meaningful change.
This foundation is more than just an organization—it is a movement aimed at crafting a brighter future for Nigeria's youth. Together, we can ensure that no young person is left behind. Lady Esther’s journey is a testament to the power of care, belief, and action.
